Upcoming Group Trips:
Discover Anini, the last frontier of Indian tourism—where nature reigns supreme and thrill-seekers feel right at home. Tucked away in the northeast of Arunachal Pradesh, Anini borders the Dibang Wildlife Sanctuary, one of India’s wildest and most pristine protected areas. The Aeyo Lakes Trek is a newly established route, carved by the enterprising youth of Acheso village at the sanctuary’s edge, guiding you along ancient trails once traced by the elusive Mishmi takin, an endangered species unique to this region.
Expect soul-stirring vistas every step of the way: tumbling waterfalls, alpine meadows, roaring rivers, and forests of rhododendrons, maples, and deodars. The path itself is challenging and unmarked—a true test for intrepid trekkers. Prepare to brave swampy valleys, steep slippery slopes, wobbly hanging bridges, log crossings, and even a touch of rope-climbing. But the rewards are unmatched: silence broken only by bird song, and scenery that takes your breath away.
Timing matters. The best window is late September through early November; in this short season, most obstacles ease. Still, surprise mountain showers can quickly transform the trail, upping the challenge for even seasoned adventurers.
The route leads to a series of four high-altitude lakes above 10,000 ft—the birthplace of the Aeyo River, which feeds into the Dri. Campsites are basic yet awe-inspiring, and the final camp by Aeyo Lake 3 offers shimmering reflections of snow-clad peaks, cascading waterfalls, and unforgettable sunrises and sunsets. Simple comforts are luxuries here, making the journey as rewarding as the destination.
Though the trek only spans 32 km and isn’t an extreme high-altitude climb, its tricky terrain makes it moderately hard; it’s easier in October, but can become tough if the rains arrive unexpectedly. This is adventure at its finest: raw, real, remote.
Let your spirit of adventure lead you. If you’re ready for a once-in-a-lifetime journey in untouched Arunachal, custom trips for groups of 4–8 are available upon request.
Indian citizens are also expected to apply for an ILP (Inner Line Permit) for entering Arunachal.
Foreign national will require a Protected/Restricted Area permit which can be applied online.

Anini is a great place if you would like to spend a few extra days at the end of the trip. There are several waterfalls and grasslands and valleys that one can visit from there. Staying in a homestay run by the Idu Mishmis gives you a chance for some cultural immersion.
