Hike through verdant tropical evergreen, littoral and mangrove forests. Learn all about the unique flora and the endemic birds of the Andamans. A guided beach walk on a stunningly beautiful, secluded beach in north Andamans familiarizes you with the intertidal zone and the organisms that inhabit it. Hike to the highest peak in the islands and enjoy the spellbinding vistas from there. A stay with a Karen family and village walks give one an opportunity to learn about a unique culture. Itinerary

  • Day 1Port Blair - Baratang

    Take a flight that reaches Port Blair before noon. Drive straight to Baratang, about 100 km away. The drive along Andaman Trunk Road should take around 4 hours. Check into a basic but comfortable resort/hotel there.

  • Day 2Baratang - Webi village

    Set off towards Dhani nullah near Rangat (90 km, about a 3.5 hour drive). The 1 km boardwalk up to Dhani nullah beach familiairizes with you with mangrove forests and the species that make up these forests. Post the walk, drive further north to Webi – a Karen village near Mayabunder (45 km, 2 hours). Check into a cozy village homestay.

  • Day 3Webi - Karmatang Beach - Webi

    After breakfast, set off on a bird watching session and trek to Karmatang beach. Return by road. Post lunch go on a guided tour of the village. Webi’s inhabitants are mainly Karens, who moved from Burma in search of a livelihood in the early 20th century. The stay with a Karen family gives one an opportunity to peek into the culture of this small Christian community.

  • Day 4Webi - Ramnagar - Kalipur

    After an early breakfast set off for Ramnagar (80 km, 2.5 hours). Hike to Alfred caves and back (7 km). The caves are nesting grounds for the endangered Edible-Nest Swiftlets (Hawabill). After the trek, drive to Kalipur from Ramnagar (50 km, 2 hours). Overnight in Kalipur.

  • Day 5Kalipur - Saddle Peak - Kalipur

    Saddle Peak is the highest peak of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The hike to Saddle Peak from Lamiya Bay and back should take about 7 hours. Enjoy panoramic views of the coast all the way from Diglipur to Mayabunder from a few spots along the trail. Overnight in Kalipur.

  • Day 6Kalipur - Ross & Smith - Kalipur

    Post breakfast, Visit Ross and Smith islands which are a short boat ride off Aerial Bay jetty near Kalipur. Enjoy an away-from-it-all experience on these picturesque islands. Go on a 3 + 3 km beachwalk that familiarizes you with the intertidal zone and littoral forests. Return to Aerial bay and drive back to Kalipur.

  • Day 7Kalipur - Cuthbert Bay - Rangat

    Checkout after breakfast and set off on the drive towards middle Andamans. Today’s hike will be an interesting 3-hour one near Cuthbert Bay that involves crossing several small streams. After the hike drive to Rangat and check into a comfortable resort there.

  • Day 8Rangat - Port Blair

    Your unique walking holiday experience in the Andamans comes to an end in Port Blair (6 to 7 drive from Rangat).
